Whitton in Bloom - Whitton Farm
This long-established garden, open for the first time to the public, has had a complete makeover this year. A stepped path leads up to a pretty courtyard walled on two sides and alive with birdsong. To the right several paths lead down to two newponds, with a gentle fountain playing in one and trickling down to a lower pool for fish and newts, the whole overlooked by an inviting seating area with an arbour covered in clematis, wisteria and roses.
Behind the house, a new conservatory leads to formal planting and lush borders as you enter the paddock with a newly created woodland area. The creative eye of the owners can be seen in imaginative features like the fragrant Paul's Himalayan Musk rose scrambling over a plum tree.
