The PCC sent their hearty and grateful thanks for all his work over the years and hope he will continue to give us the benefit of his experience and knowledge. Mrs Linda Drew also decided to stand down for a while due to family commitments. Thank you Linda for all your help and support.

We welcome the newly elected Sidesmen - Mike Jenkins and Richard Tompkins.

Daffodil Daze

This year we were lucky in our forecast by choosing the right weekend to welcome visitors to see the daffodils - the weather was fine and the daffodils were at their best. Refreshments were served, the cakes, eggs, fudge, marmalade and book stalls did a good trade and we welcomed a steady stream of appreciative visitors. A very successful weekend with £670 being raised for church funds. Many thanks to everyone involved, stewards, providers of produce and especially to everyone who supported us. THANK YOU ALL.

During April we were visited by a team from the BBC, including Prof David Bellamy, and the churchyard was filmed as part of a programme on the Caring for God’s Acre Scheme. Unfortunately although they were very impressed with the display of wild flowers and did a lot of filming, when the programme was shown we were only given a short amount of footage and they did not mention the name of our church or village!!

Easter Services

On Easter Eve we held the Team Easter Vigil Service. We were few in number but feel that everyone who came benefited from this peaceful service of Compline.

We celebrated Easter Day with Eucharist at the later than usual time of 11.30 am. Amongst us were a number of holiday makers who enjoyed the service led by Preb Alan Jevons and the welcoming atmosphere including Easter Eggs, simnel cake and wine. Once again the floral decorations were magnificent, thank you ladies.

Thanks again to Rosemary Edwards for her latest addition to the range of notelets for sale in the church. This new one features her drawing of lilies following on from her daffodil and rose drawings which are still available.

On the Sunday evening Songs of Praise will be held in one of the gardens; select a favourite hymn or reading, poem or prose as part of the service. Let Michael know asap.

Prayer for Pentecost

For a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the people of God all over the world and in all worship traditions, for a readiness to be changed and made new, with our whole selves we pray, come Holy Spirit of God.
