Parish Magazine for November 2007
Rev Claire Lording
We send our warmest congratulations to the Rev Claire Lording on her appointment as our new Team Rector. We could not be more delighted and hope she has many more years of ministry among us.
The Annual Service of Remembrance will be held on Sunday 11th November at 6.30 pm and will be taken by Rev Claire Lording. As is our usual custom the collection will be for church funds, with a retiring collection for anyone who wishes to make a donation to the Poppy Appeal. The Act of Remembrance will take place in the church.
Sat 17th and Sun 18th November, 11am to 5pm
Following the wonderful success of last year's Village Christmas, we are planning yet another even bigger and better enterprise this year. Once again we are fortunate enough to be holding our event at the stunning venue of Whitton Paddocks, a beautiful Jacobean country house, by kind invitation of Mrs Jane Perks.
Throughout the day delicious homemade snacks from our kitchen will be available, along with mulled wine and seasonal fayre. The range of gifts is very different this year and many more are geared towards children. Many of our gifts have an ethnic flavour whilst others are beautifully traditional and as always our stunning range of Christmas decorations have been very widely sourced. Our team of workers from the surrounding community has produced a range of exceptional country inspired gifts and decorations. Our range of gourmet foods is even wider and as always is made from local produce only.
Come and be inspired by the elegant decorations, huge variety of gifts and spend an unhurried few hours, doing your Christmas shopping in this delightful and most relaxing of settings. There is free entry and free parking. We look forward to seeing you. — Mary Hyslop-Winn
All Age Worship
On the morning of Sunday November 18th our All Age Worship Service will be held at Whitton Paddocks commencing at 10am. This will be an informal family worship of possibly 30 minutes duration including children's participation and led by Kath Bills. If you have any contributions or if you would like to take part we would really love to hear from you. Please contact Kath on 01299 270367. Last year's service was a very meaningful beginning to our Sunday Village Christmas! If you are planning to visit the Village Christmas why not come early and join us in our All Age Worship?
Tenders closed on 19th October for the Tower Restoration project. It is hoped that the information will be available for the PCC meeting on Monday 22nd October.
