As I write (13/09/10), work has continued to progress on the mammoth task of cutting the churchyard grass now that all the wild flowers have seeded. If you are able please come along whenever you can and help us out. Many thanks to Bill Nield for his work to date.
The PCC Finance Sub Committee will meet, hopefully, during October with the Deanery Treasurer and our Team Rector to discuss our contribution towards the 2011 Parish Share.
Just to remind you that the next PCC meeting will be held at Croft Cottage, Snitton Gate by kind invitation of Tony and Topsy Easteal on Monday 25th October at 7.30 pm.

From the Parish Register – Holy Baptism – Oliver Steven Bounds
On a lovely summer's day, Sunday August 22nd, the family and friends of Oliver congregated at St Mary's Church, Whitton to welcome him into The Lord's Family. The service was conducted by Rev Judith Dunkling who created a happy and relaxed atmosphere and Rev Chris Moore's address and Tony Easteal's prayers were both on the theme of “Families”. The church presented Oliver with a Bible and a candle as a lasting memento of his Baptism. Oliver conducted himself with decorum throughout the entire proceedings. After the service Christening Cake, coffee and tea was served. We thank Kath Bills for making the cake and Oli McPherson for decorating it. We received a lovely letter of thanks from Steve, Fiona and Oliver which was read out during our September evensong.
Prayer for Harvest
Almighty and everlasting God, we offer you our hearty thanks for your fatherly goodness and care in giving us the fruits of the earth in their season. Give us grace to use them rightly, to your glory, for our own wellbeing and for the relief of those in need. Through Jesus Christ Our Lord.Archive of Previous Parish Magazines
