Also - to Stuart and Kerry Murray on the safe arrival of Logan John born on 18th June at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital weighing in at 8lbs 5oz, a second grandchild for Rob and Pam Murray of Whitton Villa.

We send our condolences to the Cheese Family on the death of their father Cyril; a number of parishioners will have known him and the family are very much in our thoughts and prayers at this sad time.

Church Building

It is hoped by the time you read these notes that the work on the church roof will have been completed. At the time of writing the scaffolding has been taken down and removed from site and there is just a small area of internal decoration to complete - it all looks very good. It is anticipated that we will be able to hold our September Evensong service on the 8th in the church.

Don't Forget

The Festival of Churches weekend 14th-15th September. We will be open on both days. I know a number of you have been busy potting up plants for the plant stall, and we will also be serving lunches to eat in or take away. So please come and support.

On a wonderful summer evening our July Evensong was held under the walnut trees in the garden of Smithy Bungalow. The service was led by Rev Sue Foster and was attended by a congregation of 20. Afterwards a buffet supper was provided by Michael and a very pleasant evening was enjoyed by all.

On July 28th we gathered at Parish House, Greete, for our Holy Communion Service by kind invitation of Anne and Michael Jenkins. It was a joy to have with us Anne and Michael's son and daughter and grandson Oliver, who took the collection assisted by his father Jonathon!! The service took place under a marquee in their delightful garden and, despite threatening rain clouds, it remained dry for the service which was led by Rev Sue Foster. Afterwards we adjourned to the house for refreshments. Thank you Anne and Michael for your hospitality.

The August Evensong took place at The Cottage, Whitton, the home of Ann and Chris Kemp. 20 parishioners attended and Rev Sian Harris officiated. Following the service, wine, soft drinks and nibbles were kindly provoded by our hosts to whom we extend a sincere Thank You.

A Special Thank You to organist Don Hearn and to Michael Jenkins for the loan of his keyboard which has enabled us to have music at our services; this has been greatly appreciated by us all.

Please note our August Communion Service will be at Burnt House, Greete, on Sunday 25th at 10am by kind invitation of Rose and Clive Edwards.
