Parish Magazine for June 2014
We are pleased to welcome Andrew and Nicole and James and Gemma (soon to be Mr & Mrs J Wozencroft) who have purchased properties in the village.
Easter Eve Vigil and Evening Prayer
Eighteen people gathered for the Easter Eve service of quiet contemplation led by Rev Claire Lording.
There was a good congregation for our Easter Day Communion Service (including newcomers Andrew and Nicole) led by Rev Tom Leary, and augmented by an enthusiastic choir. Our grateful thanks go to them and especially to Rachel and Ella Davenhill and Kate Kemp for their valued contribution to a lovely service. Afterwards we enjoyed delicious cakes kindly produced by Kath Bills and washed down by sherry! This was all followed by an Easter Egg Hunt. Finally a BIG THANK YOU to everyone who contributed in every way to a memorable Easter celebration.
We were very pleased to welcome to our service the St Mary's Tenbury Hand Bell Ringers who performed delightfully, both before and after the service, some well known tunes. They were directed by Kevin Bryant who also led the service and Rev Claire Lording preached. Many thanks to Rachel Davenhill for stepping in so ably at the last minute to play the organ. Afterwards light refreshments were served - many thanks to those who provided the food. It was enjoyed so much that we have invited the Ringers back at Christmas.
Preaching Cross Service
Our Annual service around the Preaching Cross will be held on Sunday 22nd June at 10am followed by our traditional lunch in the churchyard. We look forward to a good congregation.

Sally Thompson writes: We're so sorry to lose Don Hearn from the 49 Club and wish him all the best for the future. He has kindly agreed to pay until the end of May to give us a little time to find a replacement. If you would like to take over Don's number please phone 890570. In other words:
- It's forty-eight;
- I'll tell you straight;
- June's the date;
- So don't be late;
- Seal your fate;
- That would be great;
- And please don't wait!!

Holy Baptisms — Georgia Beatrice & Henry Stuart Whitby. It was lovely to see the Church full to bursting with family and friends for the Baptisms of Georgia and Henry Whitby, children of Stuart and Shan (Wozencroft). It was good to see the grandchildren of Alan and Ysy Wozencroft baptised at St Mary's by Rev Sian Harris who conducted what was a lively service, followed by Christening Cake and coffee which everyone enjoyed.
