Re-dedication of War Memorial

There will be a short Service of Re-dedication of the Village War Memorial and Commemoration of the centenary of the outbreak of World War I on Monday 4th August at 11am and this will take place in the churchyard, and a wreath will be laid. It will be good to see as many people as possible in memory of the ultimate sacrifice of those ‘who gave their tomorrow for our today’.

Preaching Cross Service

Our Preaching Cross Service took place on a beautiful summer's day, the churchyard looked glorious with Ox-eyed Daisies aplenty and the birds singing lustily. There was a good congregation and Rev Claire Lording celebrated Communion. The service was followed by our traditional lunch in the churchyard and the fine weather enabled people to stay for some time, to enjoy the delicious lunch and chat. Thank you to everyone who provided food, erected marquees, served and cleared away.

Another Reminder

Keep Sunday September 7th free and come and join us at The Mad Hatter's Tea Party at The Cottage, Whitton, by kind invitation of Chris and Ann Kemp. We would be grateful if you could kindly start collecting items for the following stalls: tombola, books, bric-a-brac, plants, raffle, and cakes on the day would be appreciated. There will also be competitions in flower arranging, vegetable growing, cakes and jam making, and a children's category, and not forgetting ‘the maddest hat’.

Logs

There are still some logs available at £70 a bag. If you are interested please contact Chris Kemp on 891500.
