Organ

We are most grateful to John Bright and Barry Winn for bringing the organ back to speed. They rectified what has been a long-standing problem.

Harvest Thanksgiving

The church looked resplendent for our annual Harvest Thanksgiving on Sunday 12th October. Rev Claire Lording welcomed almost a full church to our Family Service. A thought-provoking address with congregational participation linked fruit and vegetables to Christian beliefs and values, we were all ‘eyes and ears’! The collection was taken by Katie and Sam Shakespeare assisted by mum and dad! The intercessions were led by Topsy Easteal and Amanda Cavenagh - during which a series of gifts was brought up to the altar by members of the congregation. We were very grateful to Ginny Johnson for playing the organ and accompanying us with the traditional hymns and we sang with gusto unaccompanied the song Who put the colours in the rainbow. Special thanks to all those who so generously donated produce and decorated the church so beautifully.

A large number of us adjourned to the Hope Bagot and Whitton Village Hall for our delicious harvest lunch of shepherd's pie/lasagne and apple pie. Grateful thanks to all who kindly provided the food, served and washed up. Tony Easteal auctioned off the fresh produce and Jean Wall organised a very successful raffle, with many thanks to all who gave the prizes. The non-perishable goods have been donated to the NILS Food Bank.

Annual Service of Remembrance

The annual Service of Remembrance will be held on Sunday 9th November at 6.30pm. The service will take place in the church and, weather permitting, the Act of Remembrance will be held around the newly restored War Memorial, and extra lighting will be laid on. The restoration will be fully completed in the spring of next year with the repointing of the brick plinth.

Advance Notice

Just a reminder that our annual Christmas Concert featuring the Cleobury Mortimer Concert Brass Band will be held in the church on Friday 5th December at 7.30pm. Tickets priced £6 are available from Michael Holmes on 01584 890332.
