Coffee Morning

A good number of us gathered on Tuesday 3rd May for coffee at Croft Cottage by kind invitation of Tony and Topsy Easteal. We were joined by some visitors from neighbouring parishes. Thanks to everyone who produced cakes, biscuits and prizes for the draws and special thanks to our hosts Tony and Topsy. Keep an eye out for the next coffee morning date and venue.

I hope everyone has had an opportunity to admire the beautiful spring flowers in the churchyard, particularly the bluebells that have quietly spread across the churchyard over the last several years.

Wildflower Festival

Please note that the festival will now only take place on Sunday 19th June from 11am-5pm. Setting up will take place on Saturday from 11am. Helpers needed please! Let Ann Kemp or Michael Holmes know.

As the churchyard comes under the auspices of Caring for God's Acre there will be a training day on Friday 3rd June starting at 10am in the churchyard. If you intend to come please let Joan Harris know (890814). The church will be decorated to complement the Festival. Pimm's, strawberries and light refreshments will be served during the day. Offers of cakes, biscuits and filling for rolls (ham, cheese and tuna only) will be appreciated. The day will include a range of activities such as tree bingo, family trails and display of craft work, books etc.

Preaching Cross Service

Our annual Preaching Cross Service will be held on Sunday 26th June at 10am. We hope for good weather. The service will be followed by our usual lunch; offers of food to Kath Bills please (01299 270367). We look forward to a good congregation.

Our next social event will be a Barbecue at Whitton Court Lodge by kind invitation of John and Pauline Atkinson on Sunday 17th July at 12.30pm. Please bring your own food and drink, barbecue supplied.

Thought for the month
