Parish Magazine for July 2016
Dear Friends, The last few weeks have made us realise what a wonderful, caring community we all live in. During my recent illness we have been overwhelmed with cards, letters, lovely flowers and offers of help.
Thank you all so much for your love, support and prayers so appreciated by us both and our family. Following the excellent care that I received in Hereford Hospital I continue to make slow but sure progress, and hope to be back with you all in the not too distant future.

Churchyard Training Day
On Friday 3rd June a well supported training day was held in the churchyard, run by Caring for God's Acre. They were most complimentary about the standard of maintenance of the churchyard. It was a very enjoyable and informative day - we identified over 60 species of flowers and grasses. Filming took place during the day and some of the footage will be incorporated in a future programme. A big THANK YOU to Roger and Joan Harris for providing us all with a delicious lunch and to Rev Sylvia Turner for arranging the day.
A very well supported service led by Kevin Bryant took place to celebrate Her Majesty's 90th Birthday. The collect, readings and prayers were sanctioned by The Queen and were the same throughout the country. Kevin chose some suitably rousing hymns which the congregation sang with gusto accompanied by Jinny on the organ. Afterwards we toasted ‘The Queen’ with a glass of wine kindly supplied by the Churchwardens, and thanks to those who kindly provided small eats. Following this the congregation joined in an Open PCC Meeting to discuss the Parish Offer Scheme which commences in 2017. We agreed our promise for next year. Many thanks to Tony Easteal and Chris Kemp for providing relevant information to aid the discussion.
Final reminder that this event will be held on Sunday 17th July at 12.30pm at Whitton Court Lodge by kind permission of John and Pauline Atkinson. Please bring your own food and drink, barbecue supplied.
Please note that there will be only one service in July - namely Evensong on the 10th - which, weather permitting, will be held in the garden at The White House, Hope Bagot, by kind permission of Betty and Bill. Readers for this service are Kath Bills and Tony Easteal.
