Team Service

As is tradition for the Fifth Sunday of the month a Team Service is held around the parishes, and it was Whitton's turn to host this event. Most of the parishes were represented and we were pleased to welcome our Team Vicar Rev Mark Inglis for the first time who presided. The address was given by Rev Sian Harris. After the service people chatted and enjoyed some wonderful refreshments.

Coffee Morning

On a bright November morning we were welcomed by Sally and Tony Thompson to Stonybrook, Hope Bagot Lane, Knowbury where we enjoyed delicious coffee, cakes and biscuits all made by Sally. Thank you for your excellent hospitality - a lovely social occasion.

Aileen has kindly made three more foam pew cushions to increase our comfort during services. The foam was kindly donated by Dorothy Shakespeare. Aileen has enough material for a further three cushions. If you are able to provide some foam please contact Aileen on 01299 270928 to find out sizes required. Thank you Aileen for all your efforts.

Books and Preserves

Sales of the books and preserves are going well and we have ordered another batch of jars so another appeal please to jam, chutney and marmalade makers. If you are able to help please contact Ann Kemp for jars and labels on 01584 891500. More paperbacks (only) would be welcome.

Once again we are supporting the Tenbury NILS Christmas Hamper appeal for families in hardship. If you would like to support this appeal a wishlist appears on page 5 of this magazine. You can either leave items in the church or hand them to me by December 12th please.

Work is continuing by a small team on the mammoth task of tidying up the churchyard for winter. If you are able to help again please let me know or contact Sylvia.

PCC Meeting

A well supported PCC meeting was held at Smithy Bungalow and was chaired by Rev Sian Harris. At the meeting it was agreed that the 2017 Annual Service of Remembrance will be held in the morning.

At this time of year I would like to thank everyone who has participated in the life and work of the church and community. A very happy and blessed Christmas to you all.
