New Cushions

Once again many thanks to Aileen Hood for another three pew cushions - her efforts are much appreciated.

Holy Communion and Lunch

Rev Sylvia Turner presided at a well attended Holy Communion service, which was followed by the annual lunch at The Bennetts End, Knowbury. It was a convivial occasion and everyone seemed to enjoy their meal.

Preserves and Books

We are now well stocked with this season's marmalade and a regular re-stocking of paperbacks (even more reason to visit this beautiful church).

Pancake Race 28th February

As is our tradition we will meet at 10.30am prompt outside Whitton Paddocks for the races up to the church steps and back. Get into training and bring your frying pan with you. Pancakes are provided and the race will be followed by pancakes, sherry, tea and coffee at The Carpenters House, by kind invitation of Mary and Barry Winn.

This will be in the church on Thursday 23rd March at 7.30pm. This meeting is open to all on the Electoral Roll and will be followed by a meeting of the PCC. The Annual Report and Accounts will be available.

Mothering Sunday

This joint service with our neighbours Greete will take place at St Mary's Whitton on Sunday 26th March at 10am.

Daffodil Daze

As I write it is bitterly cold outside but the daffodils in the churchyard are beginning to come through. Hopefully this month we will be able to hold our annual event. Look out for the advertising boards.

A thought

Springtime is such a helpful time, everything reminds us of growth; the trees budding, the flowers coming into bloom, the birds building their nests, all nature becoming more and more beautiful. O may God find that same growth of beauty in our souls by Eastertide!
